Santiago's most beloved shopping mall
Distinction, originality and practicality were the themes employed during the renewal of one of Santiago's most beloved shopping malls.
Mall Apumanque, located in the eastern suburbs of Santiago, Chile, has undergone a facade renewal to update its aging image in order to attract back Santiago's most treasured shoppers.
The Mall Apumanque was one of the first commercial centers inaugurated in Chile during the 1970's. It is a reference for its appraised stores, welcoming atmosphere and convenient food court, satisfying all its customers who visit the mall.
Placed in the district Las Condes, east of Santiago, the mall has undergone a renovation process for its entire facade. Mall Apumanque management wanted a swift facade renovation that both looked aesthetically pleasing and met the tight budget. With these criteria in mind, they chose ALUCOBOND® as the perfect solution for the facade renovation, with its ease of fabrication, sunning looks and economy in both material and installation costs.
The architects Felipe Assadi and Trinidad Schonthaler were responsible for the renovation, and with a clever concoction of ALUCOBOND® Light grey, Bone white and Grey metallic they were able to produce a facade that met all specified technicalities and turned heads at the same time. The architects have been able to add a special uniqueness to the shopping mall that distinguishes it from its surroundings. They have truly modernised the building, without breaking the budget and without timely construction periods thus saving money and time, and enabling the reopening of one of Santiago's premier commercial icons on schedule.
