ALUCOBOND® circular – Closing the loop.
What is the mass balance approach?
The CO2 footprint is calculated using the mass balance approach. In accordance with “European Aluminium” recommendations, we use the cut-off approach for the cradle-to-gate CO2 footprint data. This means that we assess both pre- and post-consumer waste as CO2 neutral.
The use of secondary aluminium provides numerous benefits: greenhouse gas emissions are reduced and fossil resources are conserved, while the quality of the product and its properties remain the same. Our ALUCOBOND® composite panels can be processed as usual with no need to adapt equipment or procedures.
ALUCOBOND® circular is available with both a fire-retardant core (technical details ALUCOBOND® PLUS) and a non-combustible core (technical details ALUCOBOND® A2). The product is subject to the availability of recycled aluminum in quantity.
Rethinking sustainability
ALUCOBOND® circular is more than a product – it is our contribution to a circular economy and responsible resource management. Every installed panel helps increase the share of emission-reduced secondary aluminum and brings the vision of more sustainable construction closer to reality.
